How can I change Workflow task button lables different for different workflow templates?

Hi,

I need to change the label (Finish, Forward, Accept, Reject, Delegate, Repeat etc.) on the buttons in the workflow task of a performer. The label depends on the workflow template. For example, Forward can be called as Approved in one workflow template and Sanctioned in another. How can I do this differently for each of the different workflow templates? Can I do?

Note: I know it can be done extending taskmanagercontainer_component, but the change will be the same for all workflow templates.

Please share your knowledge and experiences for figuring this out.

Extend the 'taskmanagercontainer_component' and extend the behavior class. The initial argument passed to this component contains r_object_id of dmi_queue_item as an "objectId" parameter. Using this information you can determine the dm_process object, ie. workflow like:

dmi_queue_item.item_id stores dmi_workitem's r_object_id

dmi_workitem.r_workflow_id stores dm_workflow's r_object_id

dm_workflow.process_id stored dm_process's r_object_id

Once you know the workflow/process you can change the label of button's as desired at runtime. Following 2 approaches can be used:

a. Extend the JSP (just copy the OTB JSP file) and remove the 'nlsid' and 'tooltipnlsid' attribute from desired <dmf:button> tags and in your extended behavior class get the button control and set the label using setLabel() method to desired value

b. Create new property file and extends it from OTB property file (nlsbundle defined for OTB component). However, do not specify this new property file as <nlsbundle> in your custom component definition

In this new property file, define the property for new labels with same nlsid but with different value like "Approved" like:

NLS_INCLUDES=com.documentum.webcomponent.library.workflow.taskmgrcontainer.TaskMgrContainerNlsProp

MSG_FORWARD_BUTTON=Approve

MSG_FORWARD_ROUTER_BUTTON_MOUSEOVER_INFO=Approve

In your custom behavior class, depending on workflow set the new resource to be used by component in onInit() method like:

if(workflow name matches criteria 1 for which labels needs to be changes) {

   setNlsClass(NlsResourceClass.getResource("com.custom.TaskMgrContainerNlsProp_1"));

} else if (workflow name matches criteria 2 for which labels needs to be changes) {

     setNlsClass(NlsResourceClass.getResource("com.custom.TaskMgrContainerNlsProp_2"));
