Deploy documentum webtop

my company are going to deploy a contents management solution using EMC documentum products, users will be able to access the contents via Webtop.

which evnironment and documentum products should i prepare for the deployment?

hotcap, I'm afraid that no one here will take a risk of making an architectural descission of such magnitude on your behalf.

Each documentum product comes with the set of well written documentation that is at your disposal.

Start with Documentum Fundamentals, Documentum Administration Guide, Web Development Kit Development Guide.

Setting up the environment very much depends on the particular requirements.

As for the Documentum products - you'll most likely need the "minimum" :

RDBMS (not a Documentum product, but required)
Documentum Content Server
Apllication Server of a kind for the Webtop deployment

Are there gonna be any workflows developed? If yes, then you'll need to install the BPM suite.

my point is which products (need exact product name) i need to install first for the users are able access the content via Webtop and use the workflow like collobration etc....

as you said above. following parts i should install:

DB( i will pick up by myself regarding the product guide)

- DB (Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Informix)
- Content Server for selected database.
- XPlore - for full text searching of files
- Transformation 1 (ADTS, ??? ) for converting files into a free viewing format or read only view format
  - e.g. Word to PDF
- Thumbnail creation (??); Create icons of images files so they can be displayed in user app
Administrator Application
- DA, J2EE war file, can be deployed on same application server as Webtop
End User Applications
- Webtop (J2EE war file),
  - Has been around for good few years.
  - Mature so not much new development. Most developers able to configure and/or add customisations
  - At a guess // Odds are, it will be go into support mode in Documentum 7 and be replaced by something new
- DamTop (? is that right name been a long while since I played with that),
  - Based on Webtop but for managing media
- Taskspace (J2EE war file)
  - Similar technology to Webtop but desgined to be more configurable by non techies/developers
  - A design goal is for the business folks to design forms and Taskspace will render the forms.

  - Brand new, don't know much about.
