How can I change the workflow button labels on the fly within the workflow?

Hi,

Our business users have a special requirement. The button labels Finish, Forward, Accept, Reject, Delegate, Repeat etc. in a workflow while an activity performer opens his task need to have different labels for different activity performers within the same workflow. How can I change them on the fly? I think I should not use the NLS properties file (TaskMgrContainerNlsProp.properties) any more. I need to specify the labels depending on the Activity in the behavior class. Right? Can you please post me more info like how the code looks like (if you have one)?

Please share your knowledge and experiences for figuring this out.

Extend the 'taskmanagercontainer_component' and define custom JSP and behavior class.

Create custom JSP as copy of OTB JSP file and remove the 'nlsid' and 'tooltipnlsid' attribute from desired <dmfx:actionbutton> tags used for Finish,Forward etc. action buttons.

In custom behavior class override the onInit() method and get the control like:

ActionButton finishButtonControl = (ActionButton) getControl("<control name like: 'finishworkflowtask_button'>",ActionButton.class);

and set its label depending of current Activity of workflow like

finishButtonControl.setLabel("<new label string>");

finishButtonControl.setToolTip("<new tool tip>");

in clase you decide to not to hard-code these string, you can keep values in custom NLS proeprty file, use them like:

finishButtonControl.setLabel(getString("<property defined in NLS for new label string>"));

finishButtonControl.setToolTip(getString("<property defined in NLS for new tool tip>"));
