Trouble installing Content Server on RHEL 6.1

Hello Experts,

We are facing a problem while installing content server 6.7 sp 1 on RHEL 6.1.We are unable to run the installer's GUI.It throws following error.

The application is aborted with exit code 236.

The installer is unable to run in graphical mode. Try running the installer with the -console or -silent flag.

When I try with console param, ./serverLinuxSuiteSetup.bin -console it throws another error.

We have added the xauth cookie to the install owners list but no luck.

I have attached the log file too, but there is no any helpful info.Please give me some suggestions.

Finally I found the problem, for CS 6.7sp1.

When you run the Content Server installer on the 64-bit Red Hat Enterprise

Linux 6 platform, the installer may fail to run in the graphical user interface

mode.

To work around this problem, you must install the following RPM packages:

• libXp.i686

• libXi.i686

• libXtst.i686

After installing this lib-s the installer finally showed its beautiful face.!

Is the DISPLAY env variable pointing to your machine? If you launch an X11 program such as xclock, can you see its window appearing?

Thank you very much for the quick response.

DISPLAY is equal to : 0.0 .And the xclock runs properly.What else do you think can cause to the issue?

Please give me some suggestions if possible, it is urgent.

In the case that Centos 6.x users stumble across this, the same libs need to be included for Documentum version 7

I tried the install using xming + putty plus native gnome interface - it's your post that saved the day!

I'm install content server 6.7sp1 on RHEL 6.3, the problem is the same as you. After install packages like you said problems persists. Can you advice me what to do?

I am trying to install content server 7.0 on RHEL 6 environment. I am getting GUI related error.

I tried installing above mentioned rpm packages, 2 installed successfully but while installing libXtst.i686 getting below error.

yum install libXtst.i686

Loaded plugins: amazon-id, product-id, refresh-packagekit, rhui-lb, security, subscription-manager

This system is not registered to Red Hat Subscription Management. You can use subscription-manager to register.

Existing lock /var/run/yum.pid: another copy is running as pid 32548.

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem

You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodiges

and still my GUI in not appearing. Kindly help here.
