What is the difference between "Single user in a group" and "Some users in a group"?

Still this is not very clear to me:

Difference between "Single user in a group" and "Some users in a group".

My requirement is that on one wrokflow task

- One or more individuals will work

- After 1st person works, he must be able to assign/delegate the task to the next within the group

How can I achive this? Using delegate function an option, but it is giving full list of users and groups in the docbase which our workflow users do not want. They want to see only the users in that group. For this I need to customize delegate component. Still i could not figure it out what exactly I need to code. To do the same operation I am trying to investigate on using "Some users in a group" option.

Please share your knowledge and experiences for figuring this out.

Has you noticed you don't have that option directly. There is not way to allow a user to specify the next performer (delegation or repetition) having a group as restriction. Note that if you costumize the delegation component, as you mentioned, you will be affecting all workflows unless you take precautions.

You can also try to add a variable to the process and fill that variable in with a custom form. In that form you would only present users from a specific group as options to the variable. And then you would need to use the variable as the performer of the task. More complex but has the advantage of not having to costumize the WDK component.

In any case you want "Specific user" as the performer.

About the options:

• Use Single user from group when you want only 1 person, from a group, to be assigned the task. This differs from "Specific user" because the BPM engine performs the user selection either automatically (generating only 1 dm_task) or by aborting others when 1 user accepts the task.
• Use Some users in a group when you want several people to be able to perform the task. You can control how many users are required to complete the task with the "Transition". If you you specify "all performers complete the task" this differs from selecting "All users in a group", as performer, because here you are always selecting specific users and not really a group (the "in a group" in the title is misleading).
