How can I make the final value of an attribute unchangeable?

Hi,

As the document passes through a workflow, one of its attribute value (String) is changing its value and finally when the workflow is finished, it will get a value "Finished". Can I make this attribute unchangeable once it gets the value "Finished"? If yes, how?

Note: During the process of passing the document in the workflow, I am setting it value using Process Data Mapping activity.

Please share your knowledge and experiences for figuring this out.

You have to customize the UI to support making a single attribute read-only. You can make ALL the attributes read-only without customization if you change ACL and only give read permissions to your users.

If you are displaying the properties of document in a form, you can set read-only by setting conditions in the forms builder

I am not displaying the properties of the document in a form. After the workflow is finished, just I am right-clicking on the document and seeing the properties. I am required to make one of the properties value unchangeable once it gets a value "Finished".

Please advise me.

Agreed with Johny if you have to make one attr read-only you have to use UI customization if all attribute you can check the vaule of attribute immutable_flag

is this value get set at any specific lifecycle state of document ? if so, then you can configure the attribute as readonly for that particular lifecycle state through Composer and this will not require any customization.
