TS OD ADmin Gui Error

When Od Admin page is accessed from a browser the following error is observed.

Http status 500

root cause: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

The error is overcome by restarting the os admin server.

This scenario has been observed about two to three times in the past month.
Since production environment is involved, resetting the admin server often is not a vaible option.

Looking forward to valuable insight into the error and suggestion for a workaround.

Please provide more information:

What version of OpenDeploy (including SP-level)
What OS is on the server (including SP-level if appropriate)
How much memory is on the server
What other applications are running on the server

the above should at least help to provide some semblence of context for the problem you are encountering.

Also, I suggest you open a case with IWOV Support - especially as this is affecting a production environment.

I encountered this for the first time also the other day.

This is on a recently installed 6.02 & SP1 & latest patch on a solaris 5.8 machine.

Like Antharix, a restart of the Admin fixed the error.

If you are getting an outofmemeory error, then either you are shy on memory or there is a memory leak in an app (maybe TS, maybe something else). When this happens, you need ot start looking at what is using a lot of memory and then report a bug to IW or whoever wrote the app.

This happened once again this morning (or at least I noticed it this morning. It could have take place any time over the weekend).

I'll most likely open a case with Interwoven support.

Anyone else encountering this?

This is a common problem across all our environments (test, qa ,prod) TS 6.5 OD 6.0.2 on Solaris 9. I am thinking that this is a known problem but not sure of the bug # . If you have not filed this with Interwoven I would suggest doing so. This is just the OD Admin so it should not have any effects on production deployments, just a real nuisance if you use the Admin UI.
