What is the best and simplest auto sequence number generator?

Hi,

I am trying to get a sequence number generator. In forums I see many options like 1) Oracle Sequence number generator with a TBO, 2) Unique Number Forms Adaptor etc. I am confused with so many options. I am looking for simplest and mostly used one. Is there anything avaible with Process Builder activities? The "Unique Number Forms Adaptor" refers to Custom Activity Templates xCelerator, but we are not using xCP.

Which one is the best in practice?

Please share your knowledge and experiences for figuring this out.

Both work. Using a database sequence is something you can control more. There is a wider pool of skilled people in your database flavor then there is in documentum making the support of it more reasonable should it be needed or need to be changed. A sequence can be used in any code not just a TBO. You might try using one of the database activities if you have process builder to trigger the sequence. I am guessing that w some creativity you could use auto activities w sequences for your solution.

If you have any simplest ideas may be using Process Builder, please post it. I am researching on this without going for TBO.

xCP is marketing term for package of products (Taskspace, BAM, Forms Builder and Process Builder). So if you are using Process Builder, you can use this xCelerator.
