Hi,

As a custom document passes through a wrokflow we are thinking of setting an attribute which is a dropdown list (by value assistance) with one of its list-values. Is it a good idea? Can it be done? Isn't it a best practice?

Please give me pros and cons about this implementation in you experience. An answer with some details will be highly appreciable.

Please share your knowledge and experiences for figuring this out.

The drop down list is only executed as part of UI rendering.  As long as the value you are setting on the attribute matches the value on the dropdown list, then you should be fine.

I do this all the time.
