"Save search" in out custom Webtop 6.7 is not working? What "Save" and "Save Template?

Hi,

We are using Webtop 6.7. When I try to save search after getting results through advanced search, I get "No search template on this repository." Do I need to create any template for this? What exactly the "Save" and "Save Template are?

Please share your knowledge and experiences for figuring this out.

You can read Webtop User Guide to know the difference between "Search" and "Search Template" but, in short:

Search: re-run the exact same search you made before.
Search Template: run an advanced search where some criteria are fixed and other are editable.

About your error, check if you installed webtop correctly. I think that, in version 6.7, you must install a dar in Content Server to enable the extra search features. If everything was setup correctly it should work as expected so the application logs could be helpful in identifying the problem.

The "Saved Searches" screen has 2 views: Saved Searches and Search Templates.

It sounds like you're looking at the Search Templates view and the message is stating you don't have any templates. At the top of your screen, click Saved Searches and I believe you'll see what you're looking for. I also believe the view will be remembered so you won't have the problem again.

Please see the attached "Search Result screen" shot. I have only Classic view. I am trying to save the search by clicking "Save" icon on top-right. I get the following error:

No search template on this repository.

I do not see "Search Templates" option at all.

More over I do not know what are Search Templates. Are these any custom temapltes? Don;t they come with OOB Webtop?

"Search Templates" is totally nwe to me. Please advise me.

The "No search template on this repository" isn't an error message. On a screen that lists existing templates it's just a message trying to describe no templates found. Create a template and it will show that template instead of the message.

The screenshot you uploaded doesn't demonstrate that view or message. If you upload a screenshot that includes the message we'll be better able to help.

Click on the save template... save it and then WOW you will have a search template in your repository... By this magic the no templates in repository erro will go away

Need a quick help, when I try to save my search I do not see the Make public and include results option at all.

How do I enable the two options to make all my saved search to public.

I'm on Webtop 6.6 and Content server 6.6.
