Difference : Keeping common js file in Content Center Vs. IW Serve

Hi All ,

I have some common js files used for validation in DCTs .
I can keep these common js file in either of the two places
1. In Content Center only by creating a new Category
2. Keeping on IW SERVER in iw-home/httpd/iw DIRECTORY
I want to know the advantages & disadvantages of having the common js files at these two location .Out of these two path which is good place to keep . Does these affects the performance of Teamsite .
