TeamSite queries to domain controllers.

Hi,

I am hoping there is a windows networking guru out there....
We can authenticate to TeamSite via the UI and although we can see the IWServer share, and can descend to the level of workareas, we always get an 'acess is denied' error when we try and drop into the workarea.

We have a TS 6.5SP2 server running on Windows 2003 Server.
The TS server lives in it's own domain let's call it DARREN.
DARREN's PDC contains a number of active directory groups which are used as the group for sharing on TeamSite workareas. The members of these groups are from another domain FERGUSON. There is a domain trust between the two domains.

Assuming that all ports are blocked between the two environments unless we specify otherwise, I have a couple of questions.

1. When i try and browse to the iwserver share what group membership queries does TeamSite make? I assumed that TS would pass requests through the DARREN PDC, but it seems to try and communicate directly with a FERGUSON domain controller.

2. If TeamSite does need to communicate with the FERGUSON DC's directly, then how does it determine which to use. Ferguson has 8 DC's, the IWserver share previously worked and the reason appears to be that TeamSite has suddenly changed the domain controller that it uses.

3. Can we instruct TeamSite which DC to use on a per domain basis?

check page 77 in ts.650a.admin.win.pdf, section "Domains to Use for Group Authentication":

You can explicitly specify the domain controller that should be used for a particular domain. This option should not be used if the use_adsi parameter is enabled. [iwserver] domain_list=domain1, domain2:domain_controllerA, domain3
