How to display proper error message for document validator adaptor

Hi All,

Am using document validator as part of my requirments. if the validation fails it is displaying error message like Unable to execute adaptor<name of the adaptor>: custom error message . please contact your admin. the error message you can find in screen shot.

Just i want custom error message only. i don't want unable to execute adaptor and please contact your admin. if anybody has idea please help me.

Hello Pingili,

When you develop your adaptator, you throw an exception if the controls doesn't answer your need ?

In the forms builder development guide you have : "To display a custom error message, you need to throw an AdaptorException with the custom error message as the AdaptorException message parameter"

Thanks for your replay. Just am writing code like

throw new XFormsProcessorException("custom error message am writeing ");

for it is displaying error message like Unable to exectue adaptor:<adaptro name> custom message

displaying. which was like screen shot. just i want only my custom error message instead of all that big message.

Try to throw an AdaptorException not an XFormsProcessorException.

Try to edit the InstanceNLsProperties in form-engine.jar to change thé basic behavior of error message !

In your webapp, in the Application Server (ie : Tomcat, Weblogic, ...).

I tried like in that way also but i did not find form-engine.jar. we are using developer edition not enter prise edition. will that jar file avalible for developer edition.

In developpper edition, the taskspace Webapp is embedded in the JBoss of the content server. Do you already browse this folder. Surely form-engine.jar is available.

No use it's not there. i searched in total c:\Documentum folder. it's not there. if u have idea of path of that paticular jar file please tell me.

The name of the jar isn't forms-engine.jar, as the post says. It's XformsEngine.jar. Should be in the web-inf/lib directory (I assume, not sure if it's any different in the developer addition). The props file is at com/documentum/xforms/engine/chiba/InstanceNlsProp.properties.
