Query - Folder Error

I am trying to run the following query to find the instances of missing folders:

select count (*) from abc_folder where any i_folder_id NOT IN (select r_object_id from abc_folder)

My docbase has the following folder structure:

1234567890 ( This is a case id) r_object_id (this is the folder that is missing)

Legal i_folder_id

Financial

Case Initiation

Correspondence

The issue is that some are being created without the main case id folder. I am trying to find first the count of these instances and then the case id of these instances.

Not sure if i completely understand your problem. But, try running the dm_fix_folders script in report only mode and see if it is reporting what you are looking for.

This type of situations happened to me before when using transactions and the child folder were being saved before the parent folder. Instead of failing, the transaction would complete and the i_folder_id would be screwed up like you mention. I also think the r_folder_path would be ok, in that the sub folders would have the full /parent/child path.

I solved the problem manually using a query similar to what you describe and then modifying each folder to reestablish the link but there are scripts that can help you. Never tried dm_fix_folders mentioned by Karthik but the consistency checker helpes you detect those cases, at least.
