Deployment Agent and Asset GUIDs

Why does Deployment Agent not expose/deploy the GUID of the asset? Can you? This make intergration between mediabin and external systems difficult. The GUID provides a direct link to the asset withou having to search for it which wastes requests to and from the server.

This feature is not currently available out of the box, but a couple of other customers have asked about it and therefore has been added as a feature request. In the meantime, you can create a workaround by either:

1.) Create a custom metadata field to hold the asset's GUID and then use that metadata to customize the derivative name during deployment. The metadata would need to be added to each asset thru a custom script that would revise each asset with the metadata value after asset ingestion but before a deployment.

2.) Engage with CSO to create a custom post processing step to capture the GUID of the assets deployed and write it to a custom database table or file.
