Question on parallel workflows

Hi,

I have a workflow with six(6) approvers. Any approver can start the workflow. The document passes through all six(6) approvers to reach final approver and then archival state. The workflow is working fine.

Now I am required to add a "Fast Track" in which the document need to pass through only few approvers. Am I required to design a new workflow? Or can I add a parallel workflow parallel to the current workflow? If I add a parallel workflow, how a workflow supervisor can select the path either the current path or the Fast track?

Can I find good documentation or posts on parallel workflows?

Please share your knowledge and experiences for figuring this out.

- Its up to you.

- You can add parallel flow to existing flow.

If I add a parallel workflow, how a workflow supervisor can select the path either the current path or the Fast track?

- Again, its up to you.  Simplest is to have the 1st activity of the workflow go to the workflow supersivor and then let them decide whether to select the normal flow (existing flow) or the fast track (new parallel flow).

Can I find good documentation or posts on parallel workflows?

- There is specific posts on parallel workflows.  The workflow utility is designed so that you can "map" your business process.  If you can map your fast track business process against existing process using Visio, this will be similar on how you would implement it in Documentum.
