I installed the content server and connected to sql server now. can I change the DB connector?
NO you can not do this.
There is a content server install for Oracle, use that to install the Content Server software on a new server.
would be helpful to others if you give clear information. do you have the content server connected to sql server now?
if you want to migrate from sql server to oracle, there is no straight forward migration for this.
Your content server is already installed ?
Hi ,
Thank you so much for your response and I so sorry that I no clear.
I installed the content server and connected to sql server now. can I change the DB connector? I want to connect to the oracle database, but I don't know how to do that. And I have another question: the database and table will automatically generate on the DB? In that case I don't have export the data from sql server.
I don't know how to do that, please give me some advice, thank you so much!!!
Yes, I installed it, I don't know what to do next!!!! Cna you give me some help? thank you so much!
Brian is right. You have a special content server installation per DB type (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).
If I understand correctly, you want to change the database that's behind your Content Server.
If that's the case, my belief is you need to reinstall the Content Server software again using the new database. Obviously, this will result in a completely new system. If you have content you care about, you'll need to migrate it from the old system to the new using something like dump-and-load.
Brian is right, the best approach would be to use new hardware so that you can have both systems (old and new) available at the same time.
