There is no such thing as a private or public docbroker. There are only docbrockers that listen on different ports. They may or may not be configured on the client dfc.properties.

You should look up the different configuration options in thr Administrators Guide.

To get more advise I suggest that you detail the problem that you want to solve.

Private docbroker setups is needed if you configure load balance/High Availability ( HA) in documentum content server configuration.

DM_SESSION_E_CLIENT_AUTHENTICATION_FAILURE error will occur if private docbroker setup is not done.
