How can I attach Lotus Notes' "Address Book" to a Text Field in Forms Builder?

Hi,

I am first time designing a form using Forms Builder. I need to attach Lotus Notes' Address Book to a Text Field/Text Box so that the users that need to go into Text Field/Text Box can be looked in our Lotus Notes Address Book, pulled and placed in Text Field/Text Box. In otherwords the users need to be browsed and pulled from Lotus Notes Address Book. I have an idea of attaching a link. Does it fully satisfy my requirement?

Please give me some detailed steps.

There is nothing out of the box that will read a lotus notes address book straight away.

You can possibly try using the database adapters and configuring it to look into a notes database that is accessible, but you'd have to have lotus notes configured to support this on the server side.

Alternatively look at the other adapters and see if a web service interface might help you get data from the address book to display in a lookup from wehich names can be chosen.

Custom integration layer that reads (periodically) the Lotus Notes Adress database and inserts the data into some custom documentum type in documentum (creates objects, that is)
In the form builder create a DQL adaptor that reads this custom type and represents it as a dropdown list

One of possible problems is the slow performance of the dropdown on the form if there are too many users.

Why Lotus database?

Do you have the LDAP sync? If yes, then you can uset the dm_user objects
