The administrative manual pdf has the complete instructions for both the webapp and the cluster and libraries setup. Refer to it. It is included with the installation packages.

For hardware, space, prerequisites and other info, you need to look Installation guide.
Thanks Nicholas

There is a best practices guide in addition to the admin and config pdf's, all three have hardware minimum specs.
The doc's are all available in the support site if you don't have them on hand.
Some rules of thumb:
2 processors per box
P4 or better for CMS/Indexer, SQL
1GB of ram for the library and 512 for each additional one
Don't locate the CPU intensive services on the same PC if possible.
if MS, SP4 for SQL.
Tomcat needs 512 ram just for it.
Have at least 2 CMS boxes for production environment.
The indexer is a beast so give it CPU and ram.
Notification, james are real light load services pile em onto one box.
We have at the heart of things (Dells):
dual P4 Xeon 3Ghz for webapp, 2GB ram
quad P4 Xeon 3Ghz for SQL/CMS, 8GB ram
dual P3 500 netengines x 4 for ancillary services (backup CMS/indexer, james, notification, replication, crystal reports RAS, etc...)
firewall, load balancing, collocation.
My dev setup is a P4 1.6Ghz 1GB ram webapp server and two P4 2.8 Ghz 1GB ram for the server clustered services.
Mix of 2003 and 2000 enterprise OS's.
