Hi,

We have a requirement to allow users to access folders/documents in a repository based on the location from which they access.

For eg. If a user say "AA" access repository from US, then they should be allowed to view only US documents. If "AA" login from India, they should not have access to these US documents as he is logging from a different location.

I have read in some Trusted Content Services(TCS) related documents mentioning the Access can be controlled based on location using Multi-dimensional Access control functionality. There is not sample or examples how it can be achieved.

Could anyone please help me how this can be done. Should we create some attribute at the document level to store the location information ? Or should we do some customization in the application to achieve this ? Or do we have some OOTB feature that TCS provides.

This feature is part of TCS, but you still need to customize your application to use this feature. Look in the Content Server Admin guide under "ApplicationPermissions entry"

Webtop (not sure about tsp) have a application.dfsessionmanagereventlistener.class setting, that defines java class that implements IDfSessionManagerEventListener interface and triggers onSessionCreate and onSessionDestroy methods after dfc session have been created or destroyed, you can put some logic there based on ClientInfoService.getInfo().getIPAddress() information.

The obvious solutions is: create dynamic groups for your locations, setup acls for these groups (see "Additional access control entries" part in CS Admin Guide), implement logic in application.dfsessionmanagereventlistener.class that enables dynamic group for dfc session according user ip address.
