DataDeploy database to database

I'm just getting started with DataDeploy and the docs seem sparse on the following:

What/Is the preferred way to do a database to database DataDeploy deployment? Is this possible?

example:
I have TeamSite content that is currently deployed using OD. We also have database assets that the TeamSite content uses. This content may exist in a development server which would need to be promoted to production along with the TeamSite content.

Although it is possible to use DataDeploy to deploy data from one DB to another - it is NOT recommended. Instead you should use the DB vendor's tools for doing DB-to-DB transfers.
