installing 6.5 location

but when installing TS6.5 how does one create the "iw-home" dir upon install?
on my 552 install i had it set so

\iw-home was it, but not sure how to do this with the 6.5 install.
when i tried it with 6.5 my install ended up being D:Interwoven/Teamsite (Teamsite effectively being iw-home).

You should be able to set this up during installation. The directory doesn't necessarily have to exist prior to installation -- if it does not, the install program will create it. I'm suggesting that you may have missed that part of the install, but it prompts you for this information.

\Interwoven\TeamSite is a perfectly fine iw-home, but if you want it in

\iw-home, you'll need to define that during installation.

During the installation, you are asked for this information, if you don't specify anything you get the default /Interwoven/TeamSite path. The only thing that requires a little bit more configuration is if you are trying to change it as part of an upgrade procedure.

Sadly, the default path for a Windows installation is STILL C:\Program Files\Interwoven\TeamSite, which has been pointed out again and again is problematic because of the space in the path. Yet, Interwoven has decided not to address that issue in the installation for years now...

At the Interwoven training i posed this question, and the instuctor stated microsoft requires all installs default to the "Program Files" folder (despite the fact it is often problematic)

i used the below as my install directory, i dont see the reason for the additional iw-home as it just adds another layer to browse thru

\Interwoven\TeamSite

\Interwoven\TeamSite being your iw-home? That path looks to be perfectly fine (in other words, it doesn't have any spaces

), but what is the issue with iw-home's path?

no i am happy w/ the

\Interwoven install directory...for our first install the consultants put it in d:\iw-home\interwoven which just added another level of unecessary folders Smiley Happy
