use_login_daemon - what does it actually do?

I have this undocumented setting in our iw.cfg - authentication section. I believe it was set by interwoven support.

authenticate_by=pam
pam_service=teamsite
pam_do_acct_mgmt=no
use_login_daemon=false

Would someone be able to detail what it actually does?

the use_login_daemon is relevant when you trying to authenticate using a pam module. You could choose to use this login daemon to run the pam module instead of using the TeamSite server directly. This protects the TeamSite server in case there are any issues with the pam module that causes a crash.

It is optional, but it might be safe to turn it on.
