Hi All,
I want the dql which will link one folder to another folder.
Also i want to know the dql to find the ownership of that particular folder.
Thanks,
Priyanka
Hi,
take a look at the DQL Reference guide, almost everything is described there
update dm_folder object LINK('<path>') where r_object_id = '0bxxxx' should do the trick.
And ownership is stored in attribute owner_name, so you simply query for that one.

To find out owner name of Folder......
select owner_name from dm_folder where object_name='IN';

Hi all,
create cm_folder object set object_name='Test' set acl_name='cm_default_acl set acl_domain='cm_bst' link'/Try'
this is my query to create folders.
now i want to link the folder created in above query to other folder.
can anyone give me a combine query how to do this???
Thanks in advance,
I don't think that you can specify more than one LINK statement in DQL!
You would have to run an additional UPDATE <> OBJECT query to achieve this.
Are you doing this from DA/DQL, IDQL or repoint, or directly from code?
If you're using code, you could create objects thru DFC (IDfSession.newObject()).
You can call IDfSysObject.link() as many times as you like
Hi Joerg,
Basically my requirement is:-
if a new user logs in,his folder is to be created in his home cabinet and that folder i have to link it to some other folders also
so i need to run a job for this,so that every new user logs in webtop, his folder is created in home cabinet automatically .
Can i get sample code how to do this.
As am new to documentum,m not familiar with dfc!!!
thanks
If you are not familiar with DFC, I suggest you learn it. Its the building block from which all customizations are derived from. Once you are comfortable with DFC, you can use implement your business logic as SBO (service based business object) and customize login component (which is WDK customization) to all your SBO.
