Registered Table Access in SBO

If I have a TBO that accesses a method in an SBO to query a registered table for the purpose of getting the next value from a sequence could I just create the sequence and registered table in the global repostory or would it need to be created for every repository that uses the SBO?

Only SBO code/module gets deployed to all repositories registered to global repository. The registered table (and its corresponding dm_registered object) and table sequence will need to be created for every repository manually.

I was afraid you'd say that. Maybe this should be a feature request. Something like: "SBO code should be isolated to execution on the global repository." It would save a lot of time and effort it I could just register the table on the global repository and the sequences in the global repository's database and be done with it.

On second thought, it should be possible to do it either way. In this case, it won't matter if I share the sequence numbers with multiple content server repositories but in other cases it might. I guess all I'd need is the ability to specify where to look for the registered table, global repository or current repository.

Couldn't I just modify my code to authenticate against the global repository and get the sequence number from there?

- Current. BOF and user preferences are stored in global repository. This gets kind of confusing if your global repository also hosts your application. If your global repository is different from current, I think you would need to manually establish session to global repository.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking, just do getSession(<global repository here>) and then proceed to get the sequence value. I'll give it a try and see how it goes.
