Document triggering to a process initiate form

Hi Folks,

I am in need of a solution where I am exporting a document with metadata from captiva to documentum repository-temp folder.

From that I want it to be triggered and attached to a workflow which is a process initiate form.So the metadata will be disp

What approach will be a feasible solution for this?

Yes, you can pass values from parent WF to child WF. Child workflow is basically your existing workflow without Process Initiate Form activity.

You can write a TBO to trigger a workflow and attach the document.

Best will be TBO, other wise you can write your custom method to to perform the operation

Is there a reason you dont want to call the workflow from Captiva Export module?

The Process Initiate Form allows you to collect form data that can be used within the workflow as part of the workflow. Since Captiva is exporting images behind the scene, how would you "prompt" user to enter form values? I guess what I am saying is that if you reconfigured your workflow template to call a child workflow, which is normal workflow, then you can call this child workflow directly from Captiva without any customizations.

Which initiate activity are you trying to use? Is this workflow template is used by other apps too?

As Johnny stated, you have the option to launch a workflow from dctm export module of captiva.

I am looking for a solution for the below requirement :

First,There is a process iniate form which is used for emp registration purpose, done by front office manually fill the emp-form and attch the supported docs and submit which will start the workflow....OK

Second is,Automation of this process,Solution based on captiva where the docs will be uploaded into the dctm repository with metadata (The same fields as the first scenario) and trigger the same workflow(Which is a process initiate form) with the document as an attachment.

Any suggestions please...

As per my understanding..

There are two workflows one is a main workflow another is a child workflow(For Captiva) which has to be configured in the Main.

The child workflow values can be routed to the main workflow..Am I right..

Sorry Never Mind..I was just asking about the workflow triggering from Captiva Process should be mapped to child workflow or Parent workflow.Anyways thanks for providing the solution.
