Default value for date type attribute

Hi,

I want to set default value for a date type attribute to CURRENT DATE. There is no option in composer to do so. I read through various post an they talked about using VA for it. But uisng VA force user to select value uisng EDIT link. This is what we don't want to do.

Is there any way we can do this without doing any customization?

I believe the Edit is there b/c you are refering to a repeating attribute; this does not have anything to do with VA. Assuming that this repeating attribute, I dont think there is a way to set default value without customization, unless you use Forms Builder (vs Webtop) for your attribute view.

It is not a repeating attribute. But i believe it's webtop default funcationality that it displays an Edit link for data type attributes if a VA is provided for it.

Probably i will go for the customization then.

ALTER TYPE "mytype"

MODIFY ("single_attr" (SET default=DATE(NOW)))

I had used this earlier. But this does not set the default value on webTop. Instead it displays an EDIT link. You need to select this link and then select the current date.
