Hi All,

I need to customizing the search component in which suppose I have attribute for which for value is defined. So while searching for this attribute user should be able to select values from the dropdown instead of searching...

If I understand correctly, what you're looking for is to provide the the dropdown that contains distinct values of the particular attribute? If so, then this is a WDK customization.

In such case , using a simple dropdown may produce a significant performance problems in the future upon the data grow.

Perhaps an ajax based customization with the text box would be deemed as a more appropriate solution.

These will be predefined dropdown values while creating the attributes suppose i have given four values(A,B,C,D).

These are not runtime values or free text field.

Have you tried defining value assistance for the attribute using Composer or Documentum Application Builder (you didnt specify which version of Documentum you are runnning)?

Yes Value assistance is defined for the attribute. While creating the document i am selecting values from the dropdown.

I am using CS 6.7 and Webtop 6.7

Have you looked at the Search Development Manual? It is part of either Content Server download.
