Call Taskspace Application and execute Search through URL

hi,

I have a set of documents that are stored in the repository. These documents will be having certain custom attribute something like a Category ID. Now I need to invoke a Taskspace search based on Category ID and should display all the documents having that Category ID by an URL.

This URL is constructed in a third party application and can be formulated based on Taskspace URL generation requirement. Once that application constructs the URL and when user clicks on that link, a new broswer window should show up with AUTOMATIC LOGIN (Service Account User is fine. This account will be having READ access to all the documents) and Search should automatically BE executed based on the attribute Category ID.

We are NOT planning to use SSO to implement this.

Can we do this using TaskSpace?

By the way, I am trying to access simple search using silent login to execute a dql using the below query.

http://localhost:8080/da/component/search?query=select%20*%20from%20dm_document%20where%20owner_name='radha'&queryType=dql&username=dmadmin&ticket=dmadmin&docbase=docbasename

The query is executing without any problem and displaying all the contents created by that owner.

But, if I execute the same URL with Taskspace as application, it gives me null pointer exception.

Can any of you help me what URL parameter is missing here?

Taskspace uses a different search component than DA. If you want to implement the same search component, look at the Advanced Search xcelerator.

Hi Johny,

I've gone through the Advanced Search xcelerator but the documentation speaks about how to integrate Advaced Search from Webtop but nothing about Search Component.

Here I need to invoke a search component directly through URL in taskspace application bypassing login screen and result of search is a DQL query.

Advanced Search xcelerator supports Search Invocation also?

If you look at xcelerator in more detail, it tells you how to include normal WDK components as Tab in taskspace. You should be extend the search component to do something similar to advsearch. At the end of the day, all you are doing is putting a taskspace container around WDK component. If you look at the various Taskspace actions, they are extensions to normal WDK actions.

Yeah, you are correct. We can create a tab which pulls Advanced Search Component around taskspace container. But can you help me out if we can directly invoke Custom Tab through URL and pass required parameters?

because, I need to show directly the search result screen without user typing any search criteria. The URL is constructed in a third party .Net system and on click of the URL link, the taskspace screen should open and display the search result.

I'm not going to do your work for you. FYI - if you cant find the answer while performing a search in the forums, then its a high probability that what you are trying to do has not been done before. The lack of responses is sometimes a good of that as well.
