Dynamic Content w/TeamSite, LiveSite, etc

diamondneil

Dear IW Developers,

I wanted to send a question out to ask if anyone has implemented dynamically driven content on their sites using IW products like TeamSite, LiveSite, etc.

Basically what I mean by this, has anyone implemented sites whereby the copy or images displayed to the end user are based on certain criteria, like geographical location.

If someone has done something similar to what I have asked, what problems did you come across, how easy was it to implement, and what IW products did you use?

I doubt we have to use livesite for dynamic content display.

I'd say you need to implement your app server functionality first, and decide what would you want to do. Then, you can tag your images using a certain metadata application profile, and then your app server will be able to retrieve this information.

this is a very vague scheme...obviously

We've done something like that for our European B2B site, but like greg says it's based on the needs of the app and then we just make templates in teamsite to allow for certain metadata to be inserted. In our case we allow users from all over Europe to log in and dependent on what country they log in from and what their language preference is we display the pages in the language of their choice. So with that requirement we go into TeamSite and have a template that allows the publisher to enter in what country/language the document is for.

So it really depends on your applications needs and then you tailor your teamsite documents to fit those requirements.
