Single component with multiple pages

HI ,

I have a Component A with multiple (3) jsp pages.

I need to have Next and Previous functionality which switches betweeen these pages inside component.

I know that i need container for this ,but which container i need to extend in my new container to achieve this .

Any existing code i can look into .....

Any ideas pls..

Hi,

Take a look at the properties component. You would have to extend the PropertySheetContainer.

It's pretty much straight forward, afaik.

You might want to look at extending the wizardcontainer_component.xml

<component id="my_custom_component" extends="wdk:config/wizardcontainer_component.xml">....

wizardcontainer_component.xml:

<desc>            Displays a component within a wizard framework, where each layout             page (JSP) is presented as a different page in the wizard.             Provides navigation buttons. </desc>

HI ,

I tried with extending wizardcontainer_component.xml first as below .

<component id="mypagenav_component" extends ="wizardcontainer:wdk/config/wizardcontainer_component.xml">

But am able to see only OK and Cancel buttons .There are no Next & Previous buttons available .

Hope i need to use propertySheetContainer as suugested by Jorg , Correct me if am wrong ..

Hi,

Try adding <contains> tag under component which will display Next and Previous buttons automatically, if there are more than one component.

I have only one component which holds multiple jsp pages .

Do i need to have seperate components instead of standlone Jsp's to have Next and Previous buttons

Well, you don't have to, but then you would have to implement the buttons etc etc etc by yourself

It's most likely easier to extend the existing container components, I would think!

This again requires component creation for each jsp page, of course.

Can you tell me which is the best approach to follow.

1. Create seperate components for each jsp and Extend propertysheetwizardcontainer . (OR)

2. extend wizardcontainer and implement the buton functionality .

You can extend the wizard Container.

OnClick of Next Button, OnNextPage() will be called

public boolean onNextPage()

{

boolean retValue;

String page = getComponentPage();

// we're on the current page

if(page.equals("start"))

{

setComponentPage("sec");

retValue = true;

}

.....

}

This piece will invoke the other jsp in the same component

Thanks for that.. I have this piece of code but

I can do that once i have Next& Previous buttons availible on my page.

Comming to my previous post , let me know what i need change in my above action and component posted above to get buttons visible.
