Are there any swap memory setting on linux for xplore

Hi Experts,

Are there any swap memory setting on linux for xplore?. We are facing swap memory full issue very frequently.We have observed that Java and CPS deemon process are consuming most of the resources.

Our environment details :

1. Linux Server Version (xPlore) Linux vlrtp25 2.6.18-274.12.1.0.1.el5. (This is again virtual machine).

2. Xplore Version 1.2

3. RAM : 24 GB

4. Swap settings : 8 GB

5. Content server version: D67

Unfortunately we have the same problem (with CS 6.6 and Xplore 1.2).

Hi,

I have understand that there is no limitation on the swap memory (but the limitation is the total size of your storage (disk)). However you can set the swap memory to x times your RAM size.

Here the best value of x is ranging from 0.5 to 2.

Ex: If you RAM size is 16 GB.

Best Swap memory allocation = x times RAM size

= 1 multiply 16

= 16 GB (Here x is considered as 1)

Depending on your requirements you can increase\decrease the value of x to see which one best suits for you. All the best.

We have 8 GB of RAM and 8 GB of swap.

We'll check if the problem will be back again.
