Query is getting excecuted but register table is not getting updated

Dear All,

I am updating custom register table by wdk, but table is not getting updated.

Same Dql is able to update custom table by dqman.

Even i have tried by creating different session with same user and by that table is getting updated.

Could you please let me know what is the problem if i am using existing session to update custom table.

Kindly help its urgent.

What DQL did you use to registerd the table (ie did you grant proper table permissions)? Also, make sure that the user has at least WRITE permissions to the actual registered table object.

dql used for registering table is

UPDATE DM_REGISTERED OBJECT

SET OWNER_TABLE_PERMIT=15,

SET GROUP_TABLE_PERMIT=15,

SET WORLD_TABLE_PERMIT=15

WHERE R_OBJECT_ID = 'r_object_id';

As i have mentioned also the same table is getting updated thorugh same DQL by dqman and also by creating different session.

Please check the ACL applied on this registered table object. Check if your user (from WDK) has write permission.

yes that user have write permission on it and same table is getting updated if i am updateing that by creating other session. I think this problem with the session cache.

Some time table permisssion dont get updated...First check dm_registered has it entry...then unregistered and registered and run update permission query...Also try after clearing local cache...

Assuming the registration and permissions are correct (based on your input), how are you "... updating custom register table by wdk"?

Its got to be how you are implementing this update.

Not sure what value 0 maps to, but try using the static value defined for IDfQuery:

closureUpdate.execute(getDfSession(), IDfQuery.DF_EXEC_QUERY);

I have used as you asked to do...

I think this is problem with session cache . When i cleared all the cahe using below method

getDfSession().getSessionManager().flushSessions();

Then i am able to update table and value getting populated.

Could you please let me know is there any further problem in application regarding performance wise.

will this slow down the application?

You shouldnt need to flush sessions. Unless you are saying the registered table results are getting cached (ie the update works, but you dont see the results).

Actually update on same table is working if i am creating new session.

but if i am not creating new session and using same session then query runs without any error but table is not getting update as i have mentioned earlier also.

So i thought my session caching the quey and hence i tried by flushing the session and that works.

If this is not right way to do that, could you please suggest some other way to do that.

- How are you verifying that table is not getting update? Also, which component and method is your code chunk located in?

I queried on particular table that i am updating by DQL as well as plsql and that particular coulumn is not getting updated.

Method is very simple only update statemnt is there but this is called from another method in which a select query is there on same table and if some condition is true then this update method will be called.

Update queries are never cached. What do you do after

closureUpdate.execute(getDfSession(), 0);

Do you do a next on the collection? And do you try to retrieved the results from the collection to see if anything got updated? If not then you should. Just running the query will not tell you if it succeeded or not.

Which component method? Maybe your code exists in a method that is part of a transaction that is never committed.
