Workflow Access Group

Hi All,

I want that a Workflow show be available only to a particular Windows User Group. we have <user_list> tag in available_templates.cfg but this will give access to a user but not Group. Can anybody give me pointers what should i do for this?

If you search the forums, you can probably find a couple of threads on hacking the available_templates.ipl script to handle groups - which worked (as a non-supported hack) in 5.x. I'm not sure if the same hack works in 6.x - in fact, I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

There were, probably are, some existing feature requests filed for this functionality - for which you should contact Interwoven Support and get your organization's name added to it.

Until then - about the best you can do is build your own code into the WFT or an initial externaltask or cgitask script to validte the group(s) to which the user belongs against the group(s) that you wish to allow to run the workflow - and if they don't match somewhere, gracefully abort.

It's a non-trivial, but non-rocket-science, customization requiring a fair amount of coding skills. If you're not up to the challenge, find someone in your organization who is; get training to become someone who can; or hire someone who has the ability to peform this kind of coding for you.
