iwperl overwritten

bcvbbbjnn

Hi

The iwperl binary file got overwritten and now when dcr is getting deployed we are getting the following error where dcr saving is failing...

ld.so.1: iwdd.ipl: fatal: libperl.so: open failed: No such file or directory

Have someone come accross such errors. Here we have overwritten the iwperl binary file using a correct iwperl binary file from a different environment.
The TS is 5.5.2

iwperl is unable to find the correct libraries check if the new iwperl version is referening to the correct library path variable @INC.

And what is the path for IWHOME on the server? is it /apps/iw-home or something else?

Hi Ghoti,

the path for iwhome is /apps/iw-home

Let me ask a few higher-level questions:
1. Do you know how you managed to overwrite the iwperl binary in the first place?
2. Having copied an iwperl from another server (yes?) are you still having problems? (or was your error information from *before* copying the iwperl into place?)
3. Are the two servers (the source and target of the copying of the iwperl binary) the same architecture?

Hi Ghoti,

We have copied from a iw-home backup the iwperl binary file and then now saving of dcrs is happening fine.
But will this problem reoccur later?

Adam Stoller

Okay - so the only problem here is the fact that you managed to overwrite the iwperl binary. Once you restored it from backup everything is working fine - right?

Will it happen again? Perhaps - depends on if you can figure out how you managed to overwrite it in the first place -- and that is most likely wrapped up in either some custom code or an individual "fat-fingering" something - so I don't think we can help you too much here in that regard.
