textfield

I have a textfield with a label and i want that to span the whole row and not wrap the text. can anyone tell me how i can span a textfield accross the entire row so that the textarea label doesnt wrap to the next line.

I tried using colspan but didnt work.

This is a shot in the dark, but "nowrap" works in regular HTML so I wonder if it might help here.

Environments:
(1,2) TS6.5, TS6.5SP1 on W2K3
(3) Vignette V7 Portal on Solaris 9

About the only way I can think of doing this in 6.x is to create a container with a hidden item inside:
<container name="LabelContainer">
<label>This will span the entire width of the DCT. This will span the entire width of the DCT. This will span the entire width of the DCT.</label>

<hidden/>
</item>

I found using   instead of   worked. i.e.

<item name="note" pathid="note">

<label>Here&#160is&#160my&#160label&#160with&#160no&#160breaks</label>
