In Documentum 6 dmcl.ini is replaced by the dfc.properties. What is the advantage of dfc.properties over dmcl.ini?

dfc.properties fits better with the updated technology stack whereby there is no shared DMCL install at the OS/Machine level. Each application, web application etc. has it's own dfc.properties referenced by the classpath, which works well given that DFC is all Java now with no native dependencies
