Check all checkboxes inside Datagrid having Pagination

HI ,

am using Documentum 6.5

I have a Datagrid rows with objects along with checkbox for each row to select the specific object inside the Data grid .

My requirement

I should have one check box (Select ALL) at the top of datagrid and on select of this checkbox , all the checkboxes inside the datagrid should be selected.

My datgrid is having pagination , i.e when i select checkbox (Select ALL) the checkboxes in all pages inside the datagid should be selectd .

Has any done this ...pls help

Been there, done it

In the header pagination part of the datagrid, add a Select All check box with onclick="onCheckAll"

In the HEAD section of the JSP, add a script such as

function onCheckAll()

{

var isSelected = document.getElementById("checkAll").checked;

for (i=0; i < document.forms[0].length; i++)

{

if ((document.forms[0].elements[i].type == "checkbox") &&

(document.forms[0].elements[i].name != "checkAll"))

document.forms[0].elements[i].checked= isSelected;

}

that will select/unselect all check boxes in the whole page

Note that in my case, I don;t have a pagination so I don;t know what happens if there are multiple pages

If it a single page then your code works .

ButI have Pagination enabled for my datagrid , So when click on next page The selected checkboxes on first page dissappears.

And all check boxes in different pages are not selected.at once .

I tried to get each checkbox conntrol from datagrid and set value to true to check checkbox as below higlited code .

But still this doesn't work . the chechboxes in datagrid remain unchecked

ctrl = (Control) iterGrid.next();

if(ctrl instanceof DatagridRow){

Iterator iterRow = ctrl.getContainedControls();

while(iterRow.hasNext()){

Control interctrl = (Control)iterRow.next();

Hello smadduri,

I recommend you try to override the onRender method, and see what checbox are in the current pagin, (in the worst case maybe need to rebuild the datagrid) with de datafield in TRUE

the script only work with the checkboxes which are visibles in the page. but also, you can try execute a function (script) when the page is loaded (refresed) to set.

Hi, Can you explain me few things about your requirement :

1. Do you only want to select/deselect all checkbox at a same time or want to select some of the checkbox listed in datagrid

2. What action you want to perform after selecting the checkbox

Use a resultlist to populate the datagrid and give a unique name to the checkbox and store it in a private hashmap or array. on Click of select all call a method that check this hashmap and get control and set the checkbox value to true.

Note all check box should get a unique name.
