No space left on device problem
rudra
Hi,
I am facing a problem when I am trying to create any new files in my /iwmnt/default directory. The error given is "No space left on device". When I am doing a df -k command, the following result is what I am getting:
/iwserver/default 6193583 5576634 555014 91% /iwmnt/default
Though 9% is still free why is this problem occuring. Any suggestions on this would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rudranil

Hi,
could you do an df -k on your real filesystem and check the free space there?
In iw.cfg are some parameters concerning the free space in section [iwserver]:
disklow_mbytes and disklowpercent. Perhaps you check these values, too...

As Stefan indicated - there are settings in the iw.cfg file that determine when TS considers a disk (or other resource) too low.
The larger the disk, the smaller the percentage should probably be for this determination.
For example - if you have a 1 gig disk - 10% free space is not that much, but if you have a 10 gig disk, 10% is a fair amount and if you have a 50 gig disk (or larger) 10% may be a whole bunch of space.
In your case, however, having less than 10% available space should still be an indication that something needs to be looked at carefully - because just because you might be able to get away with leaving only 5% available - that's not a lot of leaway... you either need to find a way to free-up some disk space on that partition or add some disk space too it (or get a bigger disk and move the backing store to the new disk)
