How to set Component Control from Container class

Hi ,

I have a custom container which has components contained .

So I wanr to set one of the Component Control say 'DropDown' from Container Class .

Iam able to get value of control from container with component.getControl("dropdown").getValue .

But am not able to set the value of the control from container .

Please let me know if any one woked on similar requirement
