Map default_folder from LDAP

Documentum 6.7 SP1 P08

I'm trying to map default folder to an expression that will be equivalent to the user's name in this format Last, First M. This looks something like:

/${sn}, ${givenName}, ${initial}.

However, no matter what I do the folder is always defaulted to /Temp

Any suggestions?

Can you map "${sn}, ${givenName}, ${initial}" to attribute to user object on LDAP tree? If so, then you should be able to map this value to default folder.

Yes, that is how I've mapped user_name. Everything works except default_folder.

I'm only testing with just one account right now. I've configured the LDAP config to just pull my account so the only user that is created is mine and it is correct with user_name = Faine, Mark R.

Are you able to create a cabinet called "Faine, Mark R." using DQL?

Yes, no problem. Also, I deleted my user and ran the LDAP sync again after manually creating the cabinet using DQL and it still set it to /Temp, I even have a TBO that prints the default folder right before saving the object and it says:

10:58:53,251 DEBUG [http-0.0.0.0-9080-1] gov.nasa.msfc.repository.tbo.NasaUser - Default Folder: /Faine, Mark R.

What happens if you remove the comma? I wondering if the LDAP sync script didnt escape this properly.

Okay, I think I figured it out but as a side note, even when I remove the comma the object is saved twice and the second time the comma is replaced. I suspect the user rename job but I'm not sure yet.

However, that isn't the problem. The probem is that I'm using a pst for the default permission set for the user but dmadmin doesn't have a default alias set so when it tries to apply the pst to the unsaved folder object it fails. I haven't verified this yet but I suspect this will fix it. I found the error message in the LDAP sync job report but strangely it hadn't been there before, at leat not the other 100 times I've viewed it.

This is starting to get very strange. I've ensured that dmadmin has a default alias set and now the cabinet is created when the user account is created but it is still set to /Temp. Even worse, I can do this:

set,c,l,default_folder

/Faine, Mark R.

...

save,c,l

...

dump,c,l

default_folder: /Temp

I'm about to completely lose my mind.

Update: After several restarts, deletes, and retries it does appear to finally be working, or at least it is at the moment.

Ok, in the final analysis I believe the problem may be that this content server is the federation master and the user is a global user and so Documentum is treating it differently than on other content servers. I'm searching for verification of this theory and if anyone knows please let me know.

Distributed Configuration Guide:

default_folder If the member repository is the user’s home

repository, the default_folder property is set to

the default_folder value specified when the user

was created in the governing repository.

If the repository is not the user’s home

repository, default_folder is set to /Temp.

I need to know how to make home_repository all repositories. In other words, I want the home cabinet to exist on every repository not only the one specified by home_cabinet.
