DTS Render first page of a document

I am currently using DTS and I need to generate a single page TIFF or PDF. The source document could be any format (Word, PDF, txt, etc) and may have multiple pages. The requirement is to be able to generate the first page using the webservices in order to display a readable page to the user.

Is there a profile configuration that can be setup to only return the first page of any document regardles of the number of pages. Perhaps a high resolution JPEG could work if I could request a word or any other multipage format file to be transform into a JPEG.

I have kept investigating and there seems to be a mystical document called "CTS Profile Modification Guide" that may shed some light on what I want to do. If anyone knows where I can find this documet, it would be greatly appreciated

Looks like I will have to figure this out on my own.

So far I am able to take any non-microsoft file and transform it, generating a single page as long as the target format is JPEG and the source is PDF, TIFF, etc. Not exactly what I am looking for, but inching in the right direction. I still need to figure out how to generate a single page from an MS document (Word, excel, etc.)

There's a simple way of doing this. Just chain 2 profiles, the first one creating a pdf document and the second one creating a jpeg_lres. For eg:-

</InnerProfile>

</ProfileChain>

I just did a search for "CTS Profile Modification Guide" in powerlink and could find this document. This explains all about profile chaining and sequencing.
