Unique Form requirement

Hello Experts,

I have a task and there are several options. For one of the options,0 the user must attach a document as a package and send, but for the rest of options, it is not required. Now I cant make package mandotary because it is not required in several options, and if I don't make it mandotary it is possible to submit the form without attaching a document, where it is required.

Please let me know, how to make a package mandortary for one option and optional for the others, for the same activity. The worse thing is that it is not possible to attach a validator to a attachment control as well.Need your ideas.

We have had similar requirements for our forms and we have used successfully document processor to enforce the mandatory fields under special conditions.

In our case if certain options were chosen then certain fields were mandatory including adding attachments.

We developed a custom document processor (implemented it via a SBO) where it checked that if a XML element was equal to certain value then the corresponding XML element could not be empty.

Once implemented as SBO, create a document processor adaptor in forms builder and we call it post submission.

This is at a very high level. hopefully it helps you.

Hi Imran, I’ve a workaround solution for this, create a new PKG and make It mandatory and the other one will be optional !!!

So based on task condition map the attachment to its PKG either the optional or the mandatory one.

If you worry about the duplication of the object model you may need to follow this scenario, consider the mandatory PKG as a temporary object then change the attachment type to the original one, so you will use only the mandatory PKG as a temporary object to overcome your requirement.
