I am on TS 6.5 on windows 2000.
I have this small snippet for my workflow which creats a multiple select box for the reviewers who are part of a group. Is there a way where i can filter out the name of the user who is using the workflow from this list. For example, i shouldn't see my name in that select box, if i am using the workflow, i shall still be part of the group. Thanks in advance

You could modify your sub routine like this:

Win32::NetAdmin::LocalGroupGetMembers(q{}, $groupname, \@users);

my $jobOwner = __VALUE__(iw_user);

Is this code in a .wft file? Just change the code to set $jobOwner to the user id of the job owner.

I have assigned the $iw_user to the $jobOwner. But still i can see my name inside the select box. I also tried putting quotes on iw_user. no change. And yes this snippet is a part of the workflow.

Can you please attach the wft so we can see the context of this code? Also, what is your user name? Are there any special characters?

Try: @users = grep { !/\Q$jobOwner\E$/i } @users; as a variant of what was suggested before - this is assuming that $jobOwner is a valid value and that it is in the same format as the contents of @users (if @users does not contain domain names and $jobOwner does - this will never match)

I tried this, this still didn't work for me, I made sure that the users area just names not appended with domain names, and i am sure that is what i am getting into the select box. Bit it is not blocking me when i am the user of the workflow. Here is my snippet again.

This definitely won't work:

@users = grep { !/\Q$jobOwner\E$/i } @users;</pre></font>You want to do either, not both. Get ride of the first line above, as it is not needed with the quoting that Adam suggested.

If that dosn't work, tell us exactly what $jobOwner contains and exactly what @users contains.

Here are two things i discovered, First thing is even thought the users are displayed as usrname i.e for example "johnn", "pmike" they are prepended with domain name "BLDAL01". So when ever i use $iw_user it is the entire "BLDAL01\johnn" is taken. But in the snippet if i say
my $jobOwner = __VALUE__("iw_user");
its taking the entire name with domain. I guess i have to get rid of the domain name from the iw_user, hope i am right here. please suggest what should i go about next.

No, you should definitely keep the server name, BLDAL01, in the string since it identifies the user and without it, TeamSite will interpret it as an invalid user. The suggestions that Jeff and Adam have given so far allow for this -- that is, you should remove the logged in user (server name and all) from the array with either of the methods they suggested.

What I was missing from your post is: What does the array of users look like? If it's not removing the logged in user, then it's appropriate to start initiating some debugging techniques.

I am using this following regex to rip the domain name out, please let me know if i am right.$jobOwner = ~s/(^[^\\]\\)(.*)/$2;Wrong - for a couple of reasons - which I won't go into right now - it should be:$jobOwner =~ s/^[^\\]+\\//;or - using a different delimiter:$jobOwner =~ s{^[^\\]+\\}{};As to the contents of @users - the problem here is:Win32::NetAdmin::LocalGroupGetMembers(q{}, $groupname, \@users); I don't know if it makes a difference - but if you switch the first paramater from q{} to "BLDAL01" then it is possible that the entries in @users will be prefaced with the domain name.
