Managing D2 configurations. Who wants to share their experiences?

When you use D2 you configure your experience via the table of functions and roles. Does anyone wants to share their experience how that works in larger enterprises. When you have 500 or more roles and 500 or more functions, how to you guarantee that the x's are put on the right location and changes are done correct??

We are using D2 since not too long. Although we are yet very far from 500 document sets and we always should refrain from overconfiguration, the following capabilities are available to control this:

- using "application" in each configuration element to group configurations; in D2-Config the "application" is selectable to only show the configuration elements assigned to the particular "application"

- using compare configurations (D2-Spec) as part of change process to list the changes made and check this procedurally by a peer collegue.

I cannot tell how this would work for 500+ elements, so surely an interesting question! EMC, C6?
