WS Inbound Initiate: Upload files

Hi All,

I would like to use the WS Inbound Initiate workflow activity to start a process with attachments.

Is there a way to do this with the "Process First" option or must I use the "WSDL First"?

If I must use the WSDL first is there a sample WSDL file available.

Hi,

I have managed to solve my problem it seems like you must first create a WSDL file (I used eclipse to create) then use the WSDL First option. This enables the value mapping functionality so that you can map the values including the data element (I used base64Binary) to the Package or attachment in the process builder.

PS: The process builder creates it's own WSDL that it exposes (As I'm using the intiate components)

you should check xCp design patterns. You will find both use cases.

Hi,

I don't find anything in the design patterns. Reading the steps in the Process Builder user guide I noticed on point 6 it mentions click next "Which I assume is to get to the data mapping" however the next button never enables on my process. I have checked on a xCP 1.5 and 1.6 SP1 vmware image and the button never enables. Page Settings.png

Is this a problem with my configuration? or is the manual incorrect

Note:
MTOM is not available for the Process First option.

Can you please direct me to where I can find a sample WSDL for the Process Integrator that will allow me to upload attachments?

Hi,

WSDL should be generated when you have web service defined/deveoped at first place.

If you need to upload attachment to Content server and start workflow you should use HTTP inbound initiate or HTTP inbound step integration.

However if you wan't to send attachment from Workflow to external web service develop web service and do mapping. It is simple.

Glad you got it worked. Can you please eloborate the steps especially about the web service. How do you pass the file through web service?

Can't we upload attachments using Process First approach ?

Do you have your web service in separate app server from Process Integrator ?

Please throw some light. There are not much documentation or support notes for WS Initiate.
