Hello Experts,

How can I compare two date values in a transition condition. I do like this in manual transition condition, "dmi_workitem.r_creation_date>due_date.value" , but it does not work. Please let me know how to achieve this.

can you compare any 2 values at all? I'll have to check tomorrow, but I think I remember that this wasn't possible.

You can compare any variable against constants, but not another variable.

I'm not 100% certain about this, but try to check with other types than date.

If it's not implemented, you would have to write a custom workflow activity to achieve this

Hello,

yes it is possible to compare two variables in the transition condition. For example if I have two integers a and b, I can write "a>b" select activity A else select activity B. That works pretty well for integers variables but for date attributes.

I checked in PB, which I'm definitely not an export of using, and I can't even make a manual transition query.

I'm trying dmi_workitem.r_creation_date > MyDate.value, which is accepted, but I'm getting

when I'm reentering the activity.

Is that the same you're experiencing?

Yes, that is exactly the same problem. If you try an integer instead, it works without any issue.

Looks like this isn't possible at all, most likely since internal representation of Date in Process isn't IDfTime, and thus impossible to compare.

I guess you're better of implementing this in a custom workflow method, then.

Instead I can do something like this, place a dql read before the activity with query.

select count(object_name) from dm_docbase_config where ?>?

and map the result to an extra variable. Then check it's value and if it is 0 go to something eles go to something else.
