Authentication plugin not getting loaded in D6.7 Sp1 64 bit

Hi,

As a part of the upgrade to Documentum 6.7 SP1 64 bit from Documentum 6.6 32 bit, we are tryiing to recompile the custom authentication plugin that we use to work with 64 bit. It is giving an error :

" Failed to load Authentication Plugin \Documentum\dba\auth\ntssoauth.dll. Reason: Generic Status: Library Open failed, Library Name: \Documentum\dba\auth\ntssoauth.dll, Platform Status: System was out of memory, executable file was corrupt, or relocations were invalid."

We then tried the out of the box sampleauth.cpp file to create "sampleauth.dll" and it gave us the following error :

"Failed to load Authentication Plugin \Documentum\dba\auth\sampleauth.dll. Reason: Plugin verification failed. Could not find dm_plugin_version API in the plugin."

Any ideas arounding resolving this issue would be of great help.

Hey Vikas,

Yes I resolved this issue. I had to create a new 64 bit plugin and change my authentication logic to work with the 64 bit plugin.

It doesn't look so simple as your response. It could resolve after adding yellow highlighted text for the function but after that new error. Did you face something like below?

During debug I found it is giving error from above line but no idea what to do. Please provide some pointer as earlier.

Well that's what I did actually. The other thing that I found out why the DLL was registering was because it required a windows few header files ( .h files) that were not found on the upgraded instance. I had to copy them across .

Every instance is different and the errors you may face/ solution required may be different from mine. I don't know what exactly your system setup is but I would suggest go down to the basics and check them one by one. If you are using a VB based plugin, make sure all the dependencies are present, your DLL has been compiled using the right .NET level etc.

The error that you are getting may or may not be related. I have seen error happening when either the process doesn't have permission on the log or the log has been opened by some other process. I would suggest you stop docbase, change the service to manual and then restart the server. Once the server has been restarted, rename the log to something else and then try starting docbroker and then the docbase. Once the docbase starts, check if your plugin is getting loaded successfully or not.

Hi,

I am also facing similar issue. I am trying to recompile sampleauth.cpp. I have added sampleauth.cpp and dmtrace.cpp. I have also included the header files dmauthplug.h and dmtrace.h. However, I am unable to compile the program and getting following error.

undefined reference to `dmGetProperty(void const*, char const*)'|

undefined reference to `dmSetProperty(void*, char const*, char const*)'|

Can you please provide me a sample implementation of these functions? I would very much appreciate it if someone can provide me steps to recompile sampleauth.cpp . Thanks a lot in advance.

Actually I did that long back, can't recall how was it fixed, but the problem was with missing DLLs and you need to build a 64 bit compliant DLL, in case your environment is of 64 bit.
