Hi,

I have a contnet object and business event associated with it.When event is created, it ies expected to start stateless process.

But it is not working from frontend neither gives any meaningfull error.

How do I troubleshoot the issue to find the casue.

If I start same stateless process from button, it works fine

and if I remove business event from content object and import then also it gets successfully imported so I feel issue is with business event but I am not sure what could be the issue with configuration.

Any pointers will be a great help

There is an EAP documentation which in detail describes about the usage of xcp designer and had a sample application for refernce which comes handy.

In the initial case defining when the event should occur, and then calling the action defined followed by input parameters for the process defined.

Hi, all!

We are now migrating application from Documentum 6.5 to Documentum 7.0 + xCP 2.0 and got some problems. There is a type in old app which is inherited from dm_cabinet. xCP Designer does not allow us to create a new type (model) with dm_cabinet supertype, we can use only dm_folder. Is there any possibilities to bypass this limitation?

Hi,

I would like to know on how to use 'Real-time query' model in 'Crystal Report' widget available in xCP Designer. As, of now, only historical query resultlist is getting displayed in the 'Crystal Report Widget'. But, it doesn't serve my purpose where data integrity is critical.

Im working on xcp 2.0 and have successfully finished the installation. However the question still bugging me is how xCP 2.0 application communicates with Content Server and as there are no login repositories shown on login page, like DA or TaskSpace, against which repository xCP application authenticates the user?

Also im getting below error in my test application after creating policy object. It is during saving the object:

One can not bind real time query with crystal reports in xCP 2.0. This ability is being targeted in ongoing xCP 2.1 release.

Currently this is not in the roadmap, but we base our roadmap partially on customer needs/demand. Can you explain the use case and why you are looking to use virtual documents in xCP?

Antey, you cannot bypass this limitation. I'm not sure we will ever support subtype from dm_cabinet. Can you explain more your use case?

Hi Ahson,

Well i have a client that deals with several compound documents called "Processes". These processes are basically structured collections of other documents. I'm thinking of Virtual Documents because they map really well the client's requirements and they support other usefull functionalities like "snapshots" and late binding.

I know we can achieve somewhat simillar behaviour using Relationships, but if we need to add order to the collection we will have to start adding custom behaviour, which would be a waste of time specially since Documentum already provides a nice implementatio.

Question: If an xCP 2.x stateful process instance halts due to errors (i.e error still occured in an automatic HTTP request activity after the configured retries on error) how can the instance be restarted/recovered?

Thanks for the information. We are currently working on our roadmap, and Virtual Documents is one of the future items planned, but it is not yet committed to a specific release.

For now, the only way I see this requirement to be achieved is via Relationships and custom behaviour, as you rightly mentioned.

Max,

An xCP 2.x stateful process can be managed though DA, just like they were in 1.x. If the process has failed, you can check the JMS log and BPM/BPS logs for errors and also through the Workflow Administration node in DA. From the latter place, you can restart halted processes.

Q2) In a HA architecture how many xMS Server and xMS agent can I have? And How can I 'make a reference' to them in a tranparent way in case of fail over?

In a manual provisioned environment I could use the xMS tools and the xMS agent in order to deploy the xCP 2.0 applications, but I've not found when the xMS Server can be used (manual/xMS provisioned environment).

I've not found a reply on the production documentation, Have You any document/diagram to share?

[Santosh] we have details of xms server in xms 1.0 deployment guide and xms agent in xcp deployment guide. Xms server in the context of agent is described in xcp 2.0 deployment guide

Ahson,

we want to create a custom 'department' type which extends dm_cabinet type. A new instance of this type has to be created for each business department and it also should contain some additional attributes with data related to the department. Of course, it can be implemented with dm_folder subtype, but dm_document would be preferable.

Hello Experts,

I have some questions regarding to xCP 2.0.

1. How can we validate the user input? How is that stuff supposed to be done?

2. Is xCP 2.0 OOTB activities such as link to folder etc. work on the top of DFS or DFC? Are they deployed to the docbase as BOF modules or something new?

3. What replaces SDT-s? What should we do if we want to share a list of variables across multiple workflows like in SDT's in 1.6?

4. Is there any way to move individual objects from one docbase to another?

Hi Ashon,

What is the use case for not being adding dm_cabinet?

If we have type adoption, in release 2.1,we can inherit all documentum object type I beleive.

If we have sub type of dm_cabinet,we can get the cabinet icon and with its own custom properties

Hi all,

I have some concerns about the way Content-tree widget needs to be configured. In fact, Im currently in a situation where I need the Content-tree to display the folder tree for all cabinet (and do not specify any root folder). From what I could test and see, specifying the root folder is in a way mandatory. Other thing is the root folder cannot be mandatory (need to be known at runtime ). Are you guys planning some updates on that or is already taken in charge in the new version of xCP 2.0 ?

Yet xCP designer let's us assign real time query to a crystal report widget but it fails at execution with a null pointer exception.... Upgrades are not that easy... This should be a bug and it should be resolve in 2.0...
